The wetlands around Coimbatore

Coimbatore – Formerly known as Kovainputhur ( the city of Goddess Kovai) has been historically on an interesting trade junction connecting Pallakad pass of Kerala to the trade hubs of Tamil Nadu. Being surrounded by hills of Anaimalai, Nilgiris and Munnar and the Palaghat Pass, a drive around in the neighborhood often gives a visual treat. Even the urban wetlands here are known for their rich biodiversity. A great place for nature lovers to land for kick-starting their trip @ Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
